<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the wear of a spline of an engaging part of a high speed step even if the high speed stage of an auxiliary transmission of a transfer unit for an automobile is used continuously for a long time. <P>SOLUTION: A transfer unit fits an inner tooth spline 24a of a switching sleeve 24 so that the sliding movement can be done to axial line direction to an outer tooth spline 21a formed to the circumference of a clutch hub 21 fixed coaxially to the power transmission shaft 13 and is composed so that this inner tooth spline can be geared selectively to an outer tooth spline 22, 23 for high speed and low speed that is formed to a high speed gear 18 and a low speed gear 19 installed on both sides of a clutch hub to rotation free. The tooth tip circle diameter B of the outer tooth spline for high speed is made to be larger than the tooth bottom circle diameter A of a high speed gear. The tooth bottom circle diameter D of the outer tooth spline for high speed is desirable to be smaller than the tooth tip circle diameter C of the high speed gear.
