PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply ink mixed with no bubble effectively while managing the residual quantity of ink by removing unnecessary gas quickly from an ink supply passage especially when a replaceable ink tank is employed. SOLUTION: An ink tank 10 containing ink is connected with an ink supply section 50 through an ink channel 53 and an air channel 54. The ink supply section 50 forms a hermetically sealed space except the joint of the channels 53, 54 and a recording head 20. The ink tank 10 and the ink supply section 50 are provided with storage media 60 and 65 capable of storing information about the quantity of ink in the ink supply system. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
