PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems of conventional constitution wherein a glass top plate is jointed with frames by adhesive of unfavorable appearance, and wherein excess loads added to the glass top plate 2 may break end surfaces of the glass top plate. SOLUTION: This cooking device is provided with a top plate, comprising an upper plate 2 of glass, a receiving plate 3 disposed on a lower surface of the upper plate to bear the whole upper plate to hold it, and protective frames 4 molded to have a cross section roughly in U-letter shape to enclose almost the whole circumference of the upper plate 2 and the receiving plate 3. Adhesive or the like is thus prevented from being forced out onto the surface to damage its appearance. The area of the top plate can be apparently set large.
