PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil burning appliance capable of easily and surely performing the air-bleeding while securing the stop of igniting operation by flame non-detection error caused by original failure even when a situation that the fuel is not fully filled in a fuel supply pipe, occurs. SOLUTION: Whether the single installation or connection-type installation is detected by an installation state detecting means 14 on the basis of the presence or absence of the connection of communication connection line, and the number of times of ignition control by an ignition control means 13 is increased in the connection-type installation as it is judged that an inner volume of the fuel supply pipe is large and a degree of necessity of air-bleeding is higher than that in a case of the single installation. Here, the flame non-detection error is not output even in a state of flame non-detection until the ignition control is repeated by the increased number of times, and a situation that the ignition is forbidden is prevented.
