PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating agent capable of producing elastic fibers free from yarn breakage even in thin denier elastic fiber caused by yarn taken by an oiling roller and nozzle, free from evaporation after oiling, excellent in releasing property with time by using a low viscosity silicone oil obtained by intensifying distillation after synthesizing the silicone oil etc., free from low molecular weight silicone oil. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the treating agent for elastic fiber comprising the silicone oil with viscosity of 2-9 mm<SP>2</SP>/s (25°C), and containing≤10 % of volatile components after laying for 7 days at 40°C, as the base component.
