PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pair of socks or a pair of high socks intended for solving such problems that a person wants to warm the feet when the feet get cold by air-conditioning at home in summer, but when she wears socks or high socks, she feels hot and the tips of her toes or the sole get sweaty, but when she takes off socks or high socks, the feet get cold, and also when she goes shopping with bare feet on a sandal, the feet get cold in a supermarket with too cold air conditioning, and when she goes out having conventional socks on, she feels uncomfortable because the tips of her toes and the sole get sweaty in outdoors. SOLUTION: The pair of socks or the pair of high socks is formed through stopping knitting at a position of 1 cm to 1.5 cm from the tiptoe of the socks or the high socks, and finishing knitting with rib stitch or drawing stitch. The rib stitch or the drawing stitch is knitted up so as to come into contact not with the flat part of the sole but with the lower half part of the toe, i.e. the vicinity of the joint of the toe, about the middle part of the toe. The rib stitch or the drawing stitch in contact with the toe becomes smaller than the width of the vicinity of the instep so as to prevent the socks or the high socks from slipping up to the upper part of the feet.
