PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable motor-operated cutter capable of effectively suppressing that a cut powder is deposited on the marking-off line of a material to be cut by a saw blade by utilizing a fan wind and capable of selectively preventing the scattering of the cut powder during cutting work corresponding to the necessity of a job site. SOLUTION: This portable motor-operated cutter is constituted so that the fan wind is caused by the rotation of a fan 7 by a motor 1 for rotationally driving the saw blade to cool the motor 1 and discharged from the opening provided to the front and of a base 6 through a groove part 6c. By this constitution, the fan wind discharged from the opening blows off the cut powder on the material to be cut to prevent the deposition of the cut powder on the marking-off line on the material to be cut. Further, when a shield member 51 is slid to a blocking position along a slot 5k, the fan wind impinges against the shield member 51 to be prevented from being discharged from the opening provided to the front end of the base 6.
