PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transparent gas barrier laminate not containing a substance causing environmental disruption, keeping high gas barrier properties even under a high temperature and high humidity condition and not deteriorated in its gas barrier properties even after high temperature sterilizing treatment. SOLUTION: The gas barrier film layer laminated in this laminate comprises a composite of a silicon compound represented by the general formula Si(OR)<SB>4</SB>[wherein a hydrolyzable group (R) is an ethyl group (-C<SB>2</SB>H<SB>5</SB>)] or a hydrolyzate thereof, a water soluble polymer having a hydroxyl group and a polyalcohol. The polyalcohol is glycerine and the solid component of the polyalcohol in the composite is 1-20 wt.% in the total solid component ratio and the weight ratio of the total solid component of the water soluble polymer and the polyalcohol in the composite is within a range of SiO<SB>2</SB>/(water soluble polymer and polyalcohol)=100/60-100/30.
