NOVEL METHOD OF SCREENING INDICATOR SUBSTANCE

Novel means for discovering a substance passive to the action of selected trigger protein in target cell line. In particular, a novel method of screening an indicator substance has been established through the steps of bringing a trigger protein into contact with a target cell extract to thereby initiate the action of the trigger protein on unspecified indicator substance and identifying the substance having been changed by the action induced by the trigger protein. Accordingly, the main feature of the method includes the steps of: (1) bringing a trigger protein, which has been prepared by cell-free protein synthesizing means, into contact with a target cell extract, wherein screening of an indicator substance produced upon being influenced by the action induced by the trigger protein is desired, to thereby initiate the action of the trigger protein; and (2) identifying the substance having been changed by the action induced by the trigger protein.
