<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor which has a department managing function and can detect unauthorized use of the image processor. <P>SOLUTION: The image processor has the department managing function performing the management of the limit of the number of printing sheets in a prescribed unit such as a department or management of charging corresponding to print output. The image processor is provided with a non-volatile memory having a function for storing data showing that print processing is started and deleting data showing that the print processing is started after the department managing function is normally terminated. The image processor is also provided with a function for reading the content of the non-volatile memory when power is turned on.
