<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starter capable of completely and safely cutting off a motor circuit when an excessive thermal load which is larger than the one generated during usual usage is generated in the motor circuit. <P>SOLUTION: A steel intermediate plate 34 is provided between a motor lead line 32 and a brush lead line 33 on a plus side in the motor circuit. The intermediate plate 34 includes a fuse function which can cut off the motor circuit by melting oneself when the excessive thermal load which is larger than the one generated during usual usage is generated in the motor circuit. Therefore, for example, when large current of several hundred amperes is continuously current carried from the battery to the motor due to problems such as return malfunction of a starter switch, the excessive thermal load which is larger than the one generated during usual usage is applied to the motor circuit, the intermediate plate 34 is melted, and the motor circuit is cut off, thus avoiding continuous current carrying to the motor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
