PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a good image quality by constantly holding a fixed clearance between a nozzle and a recording paper. SOLUTION: The image forming device is structured so as to attract a recording paper 16 to a platen 34 by pneumatic suction by suction holes 34a of the platen 34 when the recording paper 16 is transferred to the platen 34. The platen 34 is located on the reverse of the recording paper 16 and moved in the direction of transfer of the recording paper 16 (the direction of an arrow) while positioned in the position hidden by the recording paper 16. A rotator 30 is provided with a nozzle suction pipe 38, a nozzle wiping blade 60, and a nozzle cap 68A, and can perform the suction, wiping and capping of the nozzle as well as the transfer of the recording paper 16.
