PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crosslinkable fluorine-containing aromatic prepolymer capable of providing a cured product having the whole of a low dielectric constant, high heat resistance, low birefringence and high flexibility; and to provide an application thereof. SOLUTION: The crosslinkable fluorine-containing aromatic prepolymer is obtained by subjecting (Y-1) a compound having a crosslinkable functional group (A) and a phenolic hydroxy group and/or (Y-2) a compound having the group (A) and a fluorine atom-substituted aromatic ring, (B) a fluorine-containing aromatic compound represented by formula (1) [wherein, n is an integer of 0-2; (a) and b are each independently 0 or an integer of 1-3; and Rf<SP>1</SP>and Rf<SP>2</SP>are each an≤8C fluorine-containing alkyl group], and (C) a compound having three or more phenolic hydroxy groups to a condensation reaction in the presence of a dehydrofluorination agent, and has the crosslinkable functional group (A) and an ether bond.
