PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability of a driver in a steering input device, allowing the driver to operate with two grips still held without shifting it from one hand to the other. SOLUTION: First link members 20, 22 holding the grips 12, 14 are held to relatively rotate on a second link member 24 provided on a first rotating shaft of a body 10 to relatively rotate. Third link members 26, 28 are provided to rotate around a second rotating shaft of the body 10 to thereby regulate the relative rotating position of the first link members 20, 24 to the second link member 24. Thus, the locus of the central point in the longitudinal direction of the grips 12, 14 draw at least part of an elliptical closed curve. As compared with the locus drawing a circular arc, the moving amount of the driver's arms can be decreased to improve the operability. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
