PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out testing of printing for obtaining an optimum condition in heat history controlling in a way near an actual printer. SOLUTION: This printer is so constituted that a heat history FPGA 20 and a line buffer development block 30 operate under the control of a master CPU 10 as an FPGA and the printing output operation can be carried out at a high speed. The heat history data is obtained such that input line print data is sequentially shifted by a three-line/three-bit shift register 21 as a history including adjacent pixels by an operation of developing by an output data selector 25. The CPU 10 obtains a strobe parameter of three lines by referencing a table based on the heat history data and print output data subjected to the history controlling is developed by a line buffer development block 30 by each pixel.
