PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use an umbrella by contracting a telescopic case, when using the umbrella, in a ferrule side or a grip part (a proximal part) without taking out the umbrella, when unusing the umbrella or after the rain, telescopically extend it from the contracted state and smartly covering the cloth of the folded umbrella and prevent the clothes from being wet due to drops from the folded umbrella after the rain. SOLUTION: This telescopic case for the umbrella is so constituted that a plurality of short cylinders 8 with stepwisely slightly different diameters are telescopically connected; when using the umbrella, the cylinders 8 are contracted to the side of the ferrule 3 or the grip 4 of the umbrella 2 so that the umbrella 2 is depelopedly used; when folding the umbrella after the rain, the plurality of short cylinders 8 are drawn out and extended from the contracted state to cover the wet umbrella gores 9; and closely sticking/locking means at locking portions of the respective short cylinders 8 prevent the rainwater from leaking outside.
