<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fuel economy of an automobile by effectively reducing friction torque of a sliding face without impairing sealing property even if a sliding mate member is made of nonferrous metal such as aluminum alloy and is used under high pressure operation. <P>SOLUTION: A seal ring for sealing hydraulic fluid is mounted in a seal ring channel at outer periphery of a shaft member. The seal ring is provided with a ring inner peripheral face, a ring outer peripheral face, and a pair of ring side faces on both sides in the axial direction. When oil pressure functions, the ring outer peripheral face is brought into pressure contact with an inner peripheral face of a housing fitted in the outer periphery of the shaft member in action so as to rotate relatively and freely, and the ring side faces are brought into pressure contact with a side face of the seal ring channel to hold oil pressure. The seal ring is made of synthetic resins having surface energy of +0-20X10<SP>-5</SP>N/cm which is the surface energy of hydraulic fluid, and fluorocarbon resins containing reformed fluorocarbon resins formed by irradiating ionizing radiation in a scope of 1kGy-10MGy under inactive gas atmosphere having oxygen partial pressure of 1.33kPa or less while it is heated above its melting point. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
