HEAT SHRINKABLE AROMATIC POLYESTER RESIN TUBE WITH EXCELLENT HEAT SHRINKABLE CHARACTERISTICS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat shrinkable aromatic polyester resin tube having a small embrittlement and fine opening properties by using an aromatic polyester resin having the glass transition temperature above a specific range and having a specific range of shrinkage rate in the radial direction in the specific range at low temperatures while the fine appearance of a coated product is achieved by reducing wrinkles formed by a coating process.

SOLUTION: The thermally shrinkable aromatic polyester resin tube is formed by drawing a resin composition containing mainly a thermoplastic resin (A component) containing ≥70 wt.% of an aromatic polyester resin. The drawn tube has: (1) the glass transition temperature of the aromatic polyester resin of ≥70°C measured by the DSC measurement following JIS K7121 and (2) the shrinkage ratio of ≤10% in the radial direction after immersed in warm water of 65°C for 30 seconds.
