摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance power generation efficiency by generating power through synergistic effect of the Seebeck effect and the Nernst effect. <P>SOLUTION: In the thermoelectric converter generating an electromotive force (Nernst electromotive force) in the direction (z-axis direction) perpendicular to a magnetic field B and a temperature gradient direction under conditions where the magnetic field B is applied in one direction (x-axis direction), with respect to a thermoelectric conversion member (101), and the temperature gradient is provided in the direction (y-axis direction) perpendicularly intersecting the magnetic field B, first and second electrodes (102, 103) are provided at the opposite side end parts of the thermoelectric conversion member in the temperature gradient direction (y-axis direction). The first and second electrodes (102, 103) are arranged diagonally, on a plane defined by the temperature gradient direction (y-axis) of the thermoelectric conversion member and the electromotive force generating direction (z-axis), to cover a part of the sides of the thermoelectric conversion member facing the temperature gradient direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
