<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper postprocessing device and an image forming device enabling use of an externally provided staple device always and capable of suppressing increase of cost due to increase of current consumption. <P>SOLUTION: This externally provided staple device 3 provided externally in the postprocessing device 2 is provided with a driving motor 341, an overcurrent detection part 43 for comparing a voltage value equivalent to a current supplied to the driving motor 341 with a reference voltage value and detecting an overcurrent when the voltage value exceeds the reference voltage value, and a driving control part 45 for controlling operation of the driving motor 341. When both of image forming processing by a copying machine main body 1 and postprocessing by the postprocessing device 2 are not performed, the driving control part 45 sets a first reference voltage value in the overcurrent detection part 43. In electric power saving mode in which at least either of image forming processing by the copying machine main body 1 and postprocessing by the postprocessing device 2 is performed, the driving control part 45 sets a second reference voltage value lower than the first reference voltage value in the overcurrent detection part 43. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
