<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic apparatus with a compact light-weight imaging unit which has a small number of components. <P>SOLUTION: A portable telephone 1 comprises an imaging unit having lenses 17, 21 and an imaging element 29 and a liquid crystal display 26 having liquid crystals filled in the gap between two glass substrates 24, 25.
