<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon nanotube field emission display with a strip shaped gate. <P>SOLUTION: A gate in a triode structure of a field emission display is changed from a known hole shaped gate to a long strip shaped gate and electrons of a cathode are induced by electric force from the side of the gate. Thereby, a diffusion direction of an electron beam is confined in the same direction when the carbon nanotube electron emission source emits electrons under control of the long strip shaped gate. Thereby, an image is equalized on control of a pixel, and advantage of high emission efficiency peculiar to the triode structure of the field emission display is provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
