PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing device or the like for a vehicle capable of improving safety because of few movements of driver's line of sight, and enabling the driver to recognize a traveling route to be followed by an image of a virtual leading car surely without a sense of incongruities. SOLUTION: This information providing device 1 for the vehicle for setting the traveling route along which the vehicle is to travel and performing route guidance has a speed setting means for setting a running speed of the virtual leading car 46, and a leading car display means for displaying the image of the virtual leading car running at the running speed set by the speed setting means in accordance with the traveling route in an actual landscape viewed by the driver.
