PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner which performs scanning with light reflected on the reflection face by varying the angle between the reflection face which reflects incident light and the incident direction of the incident light, the optical scanner in which the intensity of light reflected from a reflection face is optimized. SOLUTION: In the optical scanner in which the cross sectional area corresponding to the reflection face of the incident light, i.e., the area which is obtained by projecting an area on which the incident light is made incident in the incident direction, varies according to a reflection face angle, the intensity of the incident light is varied on the basis of the reflection face angle so that the intensity of the light reflected on the reflection face does not vary according to the variation in the reflection face angle.
