PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyester fiber having excellent drawability and excellent mechanical properties. SOLUTION: In discharging and spinning a polyester from a spinneret, a yarn is taken off by a heating roll under a value P of≥100 and≤220 that is determined by a discharge rate M (g/min) of spinneret per hole, a distance L (cm) between the spinneret and the heating roll, a spinning speed V (km/min) and a spinneret temperature T (°C) in which P=(a×M+b×V+c)×L+T (a=0.923, b=-0.803 and c=-3.44) and successively drawn by a drawing roll without being wound once.
