PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To substantially lower the center of gravity of the injection mechanism in a vertical injection molding machine. SOLUTION: The mold clamping mechanism 20 and the injection mechanism 40 constituting the vertical injection molding machine 10 are integrated by placing the injection mechanism base 41 on the side of the injection mechanism 40 on the receiving plate 28 on the side of the mold clamping mechanism 20 to connect the same to the receiving plate 28. Since the injection mechanism base for collectively supporting the injection mechanism is arranged above a heating cylinder, the center-of-gravity point of the injection mechanism can be substantially lowered on the basis of the injection mechanism base and the center of gravity of the injection mechanism can be set in the vicinity of the injection mechanism base.
