PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating material mist treatment agent for the circulating water of a wet coating booth capable of flocculating a water-soluble coating material to separate the same by flotation not only to easily recover coating material refuge in a lumpy state but also to suppress the foaming of the circulating water, capable of keeping the clearness of the circulating water to extend a update cycle and not accompanying an increase in cleaning cost and wastewater treatment cost, and to provide a coating material mist treatment method. SOLUTION: The coating material mist treatment agent for the circulating water of the wet coating booth contains a phenol-formaldehyde resin. The water-soluble coating material mist is treated using this coating material mist treatment agent.
