The woven fabric, for outer garments, has a pile surface and is of 100% or mostly woolen fibers. The fiber pile layer (3) on the upper side (OS) uses fiber components (4) of the warps (1) and/or wefts (2), aligned at right angles to the fabric surface. The fiber components have the same height of 0.5-3.0 mm, and are parallel to each other and in a high density of at least 600 fibers/cm 2>, firmly anchored into the fabric structure. Weft fiber components (5) at the under side (US) additionally strengthen the bond between the warps and wefts.
