<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of outputting image data with which an image of an object as a photographing target can be projected to be easily watched. <P>SOLUTION: An image is picked up by turning a camera unit 1 toward a direction wherein a photographing target person is imaged, image data are analyzed to extract the person and to find a position within a screen, the direction or the like of the camera unit 1 is controlled so that the person comes to a predetermined position of a photographing frame, and the image data are outputted so that the image of the person can be projected to be easily watched. When the person cannot be extracted from the picked-up image data, the camera unit 1 is returned to the original direction.
