<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device wherein columnar spacers have a large displacement quantity in a minute load region and accordingly gravity unevenness, low temperature bubbling and the like are not generated and which has sufficient durability to a local load and can be manufactured so that the gap between transparent substrates is fixed. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device having at least the two transparent substrates 1, a colored layer 2 formed on at least one transparent substrate, a liquid crystal layer 3 encapsulated between the two transparent substrates and the columnar spacers 4 (4t, 4s) holding a prescribed gap between the two transparent substrates, the columnar spacers 4 formed in an effective display region of the liquid crystal display are formed by laminating colored layer forming layers 5 (5B, 5G, 5R) which constitute the colored layer 2 and have heights different from each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
