<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic component loading apparatus which can realize stable and highly accurate loading of electronic components which may easily generate a displacement in the loading when a holding pawl to hold the electronic component is provided. <P>SOLUTION: A loading head 7 or 8 moves onto a component supplying unit 16, stops at the taking location, then moves downward, and is then located at the position where a clamp pawl 27 in the opening condition can hold an electronic component 15. In this case, even when the electronic component 15 is in contact with a guide surface 58 formed to a component guide 55 of a guide member 56, the component is surely located between a pair of clamp pawls 27 while it is guided to the guide surface 58. In addition, the restricting portion 59 of the guide member 56 is in contact with the upper surface of the electronic component 15 located between both clamp pawls 27 to restrict the upper limit thereof. Next, evacuation of the vacuum path of the loading head 7 or 8 is turned on to attract a piston 43 within a vacuum hole 41.
