<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of using an optical fiber cable that combines both illumination and optical information transmission. <P>SOLUTION: This is a method of using an optical fiber cable 1 for which a side leaky plastic optical fiber 4 is coated with a protective layer 5 made of transparent resin.
