PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit of an air conditioner and an assembling method of the indoor unit of the air conditioner capable of improving the accuracy in assembling and easily performing the wiring work. SOLUTION: This indoor unit of the air conditioner comprises a main body casing 42, a front grill 60, a first panel, a second panel, and a driving machine 41. The main body casing 42 is provided with a control component. The front grill 60 is mounted on the main body casing 42. The first panel and the second panel are movably mounted on the front grill 60. The driving machine 41 has a panel opening and closing motor 43 connected with the control component to move the first panel and the second panel. The main body casing 42 has a locking claw 490 for temporarily fixing the driving machine 41. Further the front grill 60 has a fixing part 62 for fixing the temporarily fixed driving machine 41.
