PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing static electricity and its device eliminating the need of a ground plate connected to the ground by applying a high voltage to one of a pair of electrode needles and grounding the other. SOLUTION: A single or a plurality of electrodes in which a pair of electrode needles 6a, 6b to which positive and negative high voltages are individually applied are disposed opposite to each other inside a holding member 5 made of insulating material. A power conducting state in which the other needle is connected to the ground at the same time when the positive or negative high voltage is applied to the one needle and a power conductive state in which the needle connected to the ground has applied a high voltage reversed in positivity and negativity of the high voltage applied to the one needle are alternately switched at a short cycle. Then, positive and negative ions generated on the basis of the high voltage of the needles are made to act on an object for static elimination to remove static electricity.
