Articles of weaving apparel, rugs, mats, and the like, other than hair-pieces, are manufactured from a long haired pile fabric produced as disclosed in the parent Specification by knitting on open mesh structure with a row of moving knitting needles and while knitting the structure feeding to the needles a web of filaments so that the needles engage the filaments at random points along the filament lengths and thereby loop the filaments in the mesh structure the trailing ends of the filaments being supported and linearly moved by doffing means at an angle to the row of needles until the filaments are completely withdrawn from the doffing means. |
