A water mixing device for a mixer tap in which cold water is supplied at mains pressure, the hot water is supplied at the hydrostatic pressure of an open hot water cistern, of the type comprising a chamber 21 connected to the cold water supply 14 and which, on the one side, opens into a jet nozzle 221 of a water jet pump 22 connected to the hot water supply 12 for delivering a specific amount of hot water to a mixing area 13 and, on the other side, opens into a bypass 23 to the mixing area, which bypass is regulatable by a valve 24, and the mixing area having a connection to a mixed water outlet 15, is modified in that the chamber 21, together with the water pump 22, the bypass 23 and the valve 24 for the bypass, are constructed as a module that is mountable in the mixer tap housing 1.
