<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an electronic device operating on a fuel cell to control emission of carbon dioxide. <P>SOLUTION: Carbon dioxide emission credit is purchased by a user of a digital still camera 1 operating on the fuel cell. Emission approval volume data approved under the carbon dioxide emission credit purchased are transmitted from a server 300 to the camera 1. Emission of the carbon dioxide is allowed until the carbon dioxide emission volume in the camera 1 reaches a volume specified by the emission approval volume data transmitted from the server 300.
