<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an electrolyte membrane for a solid polymer type fuel cell hardly causing substantial dimensional variation in manufacturing the fuel cell and in using it. <P>SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of an electrolyte membrane for a solid polymer type fuel cell comprises: (1) a first drawing process for uniaxially drawing a membrane of a perfluorocarbon polymer having an ion acid group under a first drawing temperature included in a region above a temperature 20°C lower than the α-dispersion temperature of the polymer and below a temperature 20°C higher than the α-dispersion temperature; (2) a second drawing process for uniaxially drawing the membrane in a direction perpendicular to the drawing direction of the first drawing process under a second drawing temperature, higher than the first drawing temperature, included in a region above a temperature 20°C lower than the α-dispersion temperature and below a temperature 40°C higher than the α-dispersion temperature; and (3) a heat treatment process for subsequently heat-treating the membrane at a temperature at least higher than the second drawing temperature with the membrane fixed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
