<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately read printing data without giving a sense of incongruity for a user when electronic water mark information is embedded in the printing data. <P>SOLUTION: A data printing system for reading utilization limiting information embedded in a printed original when the original is copied/transmitted and copying/transmitting according to this utilization limiting information, includes: a means for converting an attribute of the received printing data into electronic water mark information; a means for deciding one or a plurality of positions for embedding the converted electronic water mark information in the received printed image; and a means for embedding the electronic water mark information at the decided position.
