<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure performance of a solenoid, and to improve service life thereof, while improving degree of freedom in arrangement of the solenoid to be used for hydraulic control of an automatic transmission. <P>SOLUTION: This automatic transmission is provided with a valve body housing chamber 16 for housing solenoids 203 and 204 in a housing thereof, and a partition wall 1401 for partitioning a housing space for a transmission 140 from a space inside the valve body housing chamber 16 is provided with an oil flow passage 1401 so that the oil scattered from the transmission 140 intrudes into the valve body housing chamber 16.
