PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a long-sized carbon nanotube (CNT) at a low cost for a short period of time. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the carbon nanotube formed by a chemical vapor deposition, a metallic fiber used as a catalyst has 1-100 nm diameter and≥100μm length and is mounted in a reaction furnace, heated to a prescribed temperature and grown around the catalytic metallic fiber to enclose the metal by passing a raw material gas.
