PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the trouble for aggravating the lowering of the registering accuracy and the accuracy of pitch when a film having comparatively lower Young's modulus is employed and, at the same time, its drying temperature is raised in order to raise printing speed under the conventional condition that an out-feed tension is set higher than an infeed tension. SOLUTION: During the printing on a film in continuous form through at least three printing units and each drier provided on the downstream side of each printing unit in the order named, by setting the out-feed tension of the film be smaller than its infeed tension and, at the same time, the out-feed side tension larger by 0 to +80 N than the film tension between the last printing unit among the printing units and one printing unit ahead the last printing unit, shift in registering can be prevented from developing.
