PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a cellulose acylate film which suppresses the occurrence of optical nonuniformity even when cast at a high speed and in a wide width and a cellulose acylate film obtained by the method. SOLUTION: In the method including a process in which dope prepared by dissolving the cellulose acylate in an organic solvent is cast from a casting die onto a casting support and dried to form the cellulose acylate film, the modulus of elasticity of the cellulose acylate film having a residual solvent concentration of 100 mass% in a drying process is adjusted to be 6-12 MPa, and the modulus of elasticity of the cellulose acylate film having a residual solvent concentration of 50 mass% is adjusted to be 10-20 MPa.
