PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily recover a liquid by using a simple constitution, so as to enable the reuse of the recovered liquid, in an image forming apparatus which is equipped with an ejection head for ejecting a droplet from a nozzle. SOLUTION: In this inkjet recording apparatus for recording an image by ejecting an ink droplet from a printhead 12, an endless belt 33 for supporting and carrying recording paper, which has liquid repellency, is provided with a plurality of ink collecting holes 50. A vacuum generating means (a pump for sucking a head and a fan for sucking paper) for sucking in ink via the holes 50 is installed on the backside of the belt 33, and the ink, which is not used for image recording, is recovered via the holes 50 by a vacuum of the vacuum generating means. The hole 50 with an inclined plane 53, along which the ink droplet slides down, is formed as a hole whose upside (ejection side) opening is wide and whose downside (recovery side) opening is narrow. The recording paper is supported in a contact state by a ridge 54 around the hole 50, and the adhesion of the ink to the backside of the recording paper is prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
