PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve easiness of viewing display when external light quantity is small while suppressing and preventing a feeling of physical disorder such that an image is displayed in a secluded place. SOLUTION: This display device is provided with an electrophoretic panel 1 which has display screens capable of displaying specified images in both the front and back and a side light type lighting device 7 such that only the back-side display screen of the electrophoretic panel 1 is covered with a transparent light guide plate 8.
