PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel and a diagnostic system which enable a user to exactly grasp whether the check is necessary. SOLUTION: The lens barrel and diagnostic system is provided with: a first movable part 41 for controlling the focus position; a second movable part 51 for controlling aperture diaphragm; a storage part 44 for storing the amount of movement of the first movable part 41 and a storage part 54 for storing the amount of movement the a second movable part 51; and a storage part 46 for storing the limit amount of movement of a first movable part 41 and a storage part 56 for storing the limit amount of movement of a second movable part 51 when the deterioration of a first function and a second function occur. Further, the lens barrel and diagnostic system catches the present circumstances about the product life and urges the user to require the check by comparing the moving amounts stored in the storage part 44 and storage part 46 and by comparing the moving amounts stored in the storage part 54 and the storage part 56.
