PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact sheet feeding device capable of securely separating sheets from each other even when setting sheets roughly and feeding them and to provide an image forming device and an image reading device equipped with it. SOLUTION: A separation part for separating sheets 25 loaded on a sheet loading means one by one is constituted by a sheet feeding means 33 for feeding sheets and a separation member 34 coming into pressure-contact with the sheet feeding means 33 so as to come into contact with and leave it. Travel amount of the separation member 34 in the direction in which it leaves the sheet feeding means 33 is regulated below stacked height of sheets 25 when the maximum number of sheets are stacked on the sheet stacking means by a regulation member 36a.
