PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an analysis center from putting out an inspection result without knowing that a temperature controller has temporarily broken down while specimens are in storage or in process of transport. SOLUTION: This specimen management system providing a highly reliable inspection result by verifying intermediate processes up to the inspection of the specimens, comprises: a non-contact recording medium fixed to a specimen container and having proper information recorded thereon; a medical institution terminal for recording classification of specimen descriptions and ID of a test subject on the recording medium; a specimen inspection device in the analysis center; a storage status information recorder for wirelessly recording, on the recording medium, at least one out of a first information on storage status, transport status information during transport, and a second information on storage status; and a specimen information management device for collecting inspection results on the respective specimens from the inspection device and storing therein specimen information comprising information on the inspection results with the proper information and/or the test subject ID attached thereto.
