PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focal plane shutter for cameras which is provided with a switch constitution allowing operation of a shutter blade to be suitably detected. SOLUTION: A support plate 9 and a printed circuit board 10 are attached one over the other with a prescribed space between them. The printed circuit board 10 has two contact members 12 and 13 attached thereto, which are electrically connected to a wiring pattern of the board 10 and have flexibility and have contact parts 12C and 13c arranged between the shutter plate 1 and the support plate 9. Though contact members 12 and 13 have contact parts 12C and 13c brought into contact with or separated from each other by a push part 16b of a front blade driving member 16 and have suppression object parts 12d and 13d brought into contact with positioning means 1d and 1e provided on the shutter plate 1, dust is not brought about by repeated contact because they are not brought into contact with end faces of the print circuit board.
