PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a word recognition program and a word recognition device, which can gradually place even a non-registered word as an effective word for triggering the start of processing, as long as the speech recognition is precise and the voice in a similar range is frequently uttered. SOLUTION: The word recognition program makes a computer for recognizing the uttered speech operate as: a voice distance discrimination means 1 for comparing the uttered voice with the characteristic quantities of the registered words and for outputting respective relative distances of the inputted voice with respect to a plurality of best approximation candidates; an uttered word learning means 2 for setting and updating a learning table in which priority order is expressed for responding a word vector group consisting of the distance values from the plurality of candidates, as imaginary candidates; a word management means 3 for comparing the word vector group of the uttered voice with the word vector group on the learning table; and a response means 4 for outputting a response instruction, on the condition, that it is judged that the uttered voice corresponds to the imaginary candidate not less than prescribed rank of the learning table.
